Bobbie Giovatti is the 14-year-old daughter of one of the richest crime lords in Verona. Besides avoiding her endless line of suitors, she has little to worry about. That all ends the day her best friend’s father goes missing, the most prominent crime lord in all of Italy. Soon after, other crime lords across the country are disappearing. When the ransom note appears from the kidnapper, known only as the Diamente Nero, the families are shocked to find that money is not the objective. The kidnapper wants the crime lords’ trade secrets, plans from the past and plans for the future. When Bobbie finds a list of the missing crime lords, her father is next on the list. She and her friend Grayson must rush to save his father, yet protect her own at the same time. With danger around every basilica, Bobbie must outwit the ultimate thief, one who steals thieves.
